Welcome to The First House That Love Built!

Picture
St. Martin of Tours students have recently undertaken a special project that will benefit the many children and families who call the Ronald McDonald House at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children - home.  Classrooms will compete with one another until April 2012 in collecting tabs from soda/soup cans...which will be weighed monthly.  The classroom with the most tabs by weight will be rewarded with a Pizza Party in May!
You can help with this project, too!  Save the tabs at home/work and drop them off at school or church if you do not have or know a child attending our school.  Donated tabs will be equally distributed to all classes.  Not only will you be helping our children learn to care for others...but you will make a big difference in the lives of about 2,000 families who will use the Ronald McDonald House this year!
Since this program began in 1997, over 168 tons of tabs have been collected which translates into more than $135,476 in financial support!  Check out their website for more information:  www.philarmh.org

JUST IN!  Our final "weigh in" totals came to nearly 300 lbs. of tabs!  That's an extraordinary amount collected in the six months we have had this drive!   The winner for April/May is Grade 5 with a total of 29 lbs. 2 oz.

The overall winner for the past six months is the Learning Support Class of Sr. Faith and Sr. Grace with a total of 39 lbs. 12 oz.  Second place is held by Grade 3, Mrs. Bell's Class with a total of 30 lbs.  With such splendid work accomplished by these two classes, it has been decided that both will enjoy a Pizza lunch on Monday, May 21st!

WOW!  Great work, SMT Students!
THANKS to all who helped us in this great project!  Don't forget to save your tabs over the summer!
